Ramallah, March 28th. - Palestinian National Council President Rawhi Fattouh today condemned the Israeli Supreme Court's decision to uphold the blockade of the Gaza Strip, which is suffering an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
The Palestinian leader said in a statement that the decision blatantly reflects a false justice system governed by racism and fascism.
Fattouh accused the country's highest judicial body of supporting an unjust legal system that serves occupation policies and racist practices against Palestinians.
The recent ruling is an extension of the occupation's policy of starving and destroying our people, he stressed.
The ruling demonstrates "clear extremism and disregard for the basic needs of Palestinians in Gaza, who face an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe," he stressed.
In this regard, he denounced that the country's Army has besieged the coastal enclave, which has not received food, medicine, fuel, and other vital supplies since March 2.
"Justice in Israel has nothing to do with the concept of international law or humanitarian principles... they are political and racist tribunals that legitimize the crimes of the occupation," he asserted.
The court unanimously ruled yesterday to reject a petition asking the state to resume aid flows to Gaza, home to more than two million people.
According to the ruling, the government and armed forces directives are appropriate under Israeli conflict laws and regulations.
The petition was submitted by numerous left-wing and Arab-Israeli organizations.
In recent weeks, the UN, numerous countries, and NGOs have warned of the serious humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip due to the lack of food and medicine, predicting severe famine in the near future. (PL) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
