Ukraine, regime, new semi-führer, Russia, Sergei Lavrov

Europe seeks to install a new semi-führer in Ukraine, denounces Lavrov

Moscow, April 15 – European countries want to preserve a regime similar to the current one in Ukraine and install a new semi-Führer to that end, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared.

During an interview with the Russian newspaper Kommersant, published this Monday, the chancellor highlighted that "the Russophobic approach" is enshrined in Ukrainian legislation. "No one is even talking about elections. Now, however, the Americans have said: elections must be held. But Europe will do everything possible so that the regime does not change in essence," he said.

"European countries will find some new semi-führer, who will be less dependent on various substances, but the essence of the regime will remain," Lavrov said.

In his opinion, all the ideas about a deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine, promoted by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, "start from the fact that this is necessary to preserve at least a piece of land on which the openly Russophobic Nazi regime remains, sharpened to prepare another war against Russia, as was done with the Minsk agreements."

Vladimir Zelensky's mandate expired on May 20, 2024, and from that moment on the legitimacy of his Government was called into question. Zelensky suspended the presidential elections, putting martial law and the general mobilization decreed as a result of the military conflict with Russia as an argument.

In March, Steve Witkoff, the US president's special envoy for the Middle East, declared that Ukraine has agreed to hold presidential elections. Last week, it was reported that preparations for the elections had already begun.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in late March that the possibility of forming a temporary government in Ukraine could be discussed under the auspices of the UN, along with the US, European countries, and Russia's partners. (Text and photo: RT)
