Repairs and substitutions in photovoltaic systems benefit remote areas in Camagüey


Camaguey, May 30th. - In recent weeks in Camagüey 22 cabinets have been repaired and the total change of the system of 40 solar panels of photovoltaic technology, which includes batteries and investors, mounted in remote areas of the province that do not have access to the national electroenergy system.

According to engineer Rolando Gonzalez Rodriguez, chief investment officer of the Electric Company, these sites allow the use of luminaires, such as fluorescent lamps, fans, even television.

Studies carried out say that a figure of more than a thousand homes in Camagüey receives this benefit, although the area in charge of its care will continue to work to maintain stability of the service, thanks to the Revolution and international collaboration, initially present for years.

The amount of generation of the parks in operation in Camagüey is equivalent to 12.2 Megawatts, a capacity that enters into action at peak noon.

Camague, like the rest of the country, is committed to increasing the use of solar panels for electricity generation and in this case there is the recent incorporation of the park of 21.8 Megawatts de Luaces, in Vertientes.
