Camagüey, June 5th. - Representative Tamara Valido Benítez, president of the Cuban National Assembly's Service Commission, focused her remarks this Wednesday on the need to improve the quality of services and prioritize public satisfaction. During her visit, she met with executives and employees of the Ministry of Communications and the Business Group of Commerce.
During the visit, Valido Benítez expressed interest in the projected work, investments, and financial results of the Socialist State Enterprise. She also urged ongoing dialogue with the population, especially regarding the measures planned in the government program, aimed at strengthening citizen participation and transparency.
She also expressed interest in monitoring the proposals made by citizens and in the enforcement actions to combat crime and illegal activities affecting communities. She shared the fundamental premise of maintaining a constant connection between entities, in order to clearly, unify, and transparently explain each of the processes and transformations underway in the country, which will result in improvements for the people in the short, medium, and long term.
The event included meetings in various locations, extending from the capital city to the municipality of Nuevitas. Among the topics discussed were the need to correct economic distortions, boost territorial development, strengthen banking access, promote the use of payment gateways, and ensure adequate infrastructure to eliminate the silence zones in some community councils.
In addition to institutions from the Ministry of Communications and the Trade Business Group, an exchange with representatives of the transportation system is planned for the next regular session as part of the oversight exercise in that sector. Establishments in the gastronomy and tourism sectors will also be visited, with an emphasis on experiences related to heritage conservation and preservation.
Accompanied by the coordinator of the People's Power Government's food programs and three representatives from Camagüey, members of the 35-member Service Commission team, the representative learned about the actions aimed at strengthening political and ideological work with young people.
Before the province's report to the National Parliament, Valido Benítez stated that this parliamentary visit, which will run until June 7, has a full program and reflects the joint efforts of the authorities and the population to address the country's current challenges.
