Cuba congratulates Ministry of the Interior on the anniversary 64

Havana, Jun 6th. - The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today congratulated the chiefs, officers and combatants of the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) on the 64th anniversary of the founding of that body.

Through his profile on the social network X, the president highlighted the more than six decades of Minint's work, which he described as a heroic guardian of national security, citizen tranquillity and internal order.

On June 6, 1961, the Minint was created to confront the hostility and attempts of the United States government to overthrow the Cuban Revolution (1 January 1959).

This culminated in a period of improvement and unification of various bodies, initiated with the foundation of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) and the creation of the State Security Bodies.

The military structure integrated units of the Ministries of the Interior and Justice, aimed at the protection of internal order and national security.

During its growth process, he hosted under his command the Fire and Rangers Corps, the Canine Technique, the Border Guard Troops and the Special Brigade.

The Ministry of the Interior works with the population in the confrontation with criminal conduct and actions in Cuban territory and also against those born or executed from abroad.

Its troops are also involved in efforts to preserve human life and safeguard the country ' s heritage in the face of natural disasters and health crises.

They also contribute to the confrontation with attempts to subvert the revolutionary process in Cuba through media manipulation and discredit campaigns against the island's driving transformation process amid growing hostility in Washington. (Text and photo: PL)
