Havana, June 9 – With the aim of strengthening people's learning about inclusion policies and international practices in teaching, the First International Workshop on Youth and Adult Education will begin today at the Havana Convention Palace.
This event will run until June 11th and will allow delegates from Cuba and six other attending nations to delve into academic actions for the professional development of educators and the experiences of the third improvement of the national education system.
As reported at a press conference by Dr. C Maura Tomasén León, national director of youth and adult education at the Ministry of Education, knowledge exchange will be enhanced through conferences, debates and a forum related to sex education.
The importance of information technologies for the evolution of the educational process will also be emphasized, she added.
The main precedent for the event is the historic literacy campaign implemented at the beginning of the Cuban Revolution.
The First International Workshop on Youth and Adult Education will pay tribute to Jaime Canfux Gutiérrez and Armando Hart Dávalos, for being two fundamental pillars of Cuban education.
According to the scientific program, delegates will visit sites of social and historical interest such as the 24 de Febrero Workers-Peasants Faculty, the Tamara Bunke Language School, and the Fidel Castro Ruz Center. (ACN) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
