Pre-provincial to the 64 National Baseball Series is prepared

Camagüey, June 20 – A combination of highly experienced and less experienced players make up the announced provincial baseball pre-selection, which will prepare for the relatively upcoming 64th National Series, scheduled for early September.

Very veteran figures like Yordanis Samón, and Alexander Ayala, joined by other known pitchers such as José Ramón Rodríguez, Rodolfo Sorís and Dariel Góngora, form the basis of the team, along with Luis González Azcuy, Leonel Moas and Michael Thompson, among others.

Among the novelties present in this team, stand out the returns of the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes native Yosbel Pérez, and the Granma’s native receiver Hubert Sánchez, who joined Ermindo Escobar, give strength to a strategic position within a team.

Coach "Viyo" Odelín has his main headache in the area of pitching, by an abundant number of young people with little or no experience in national classics, and that requires a very rigorous training.

For the complex task of conditioning the pitchers, he has the support of former Olympian Omar Luis Martínez, whose knowledge can be very beneficial, as well as Leslie Anderson, assigned to coach the offense.

Last season, the final result was "forgettable," a fact that even led to a change in the management of the Camagüey Bulls, although it is fair to acknowledge the absence of some star players, affected by contracts abroad.
