Cuban construction workers' achievements highlighted


Havana, Aug 9.- The Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC, for its acronym in Spanish), Teresa Amarelles Boue, pointed out in Havana that Cuban women workers turn everyday tasks into achievements.

The member of the Political Bureau spoke at a meeting with outstanding 60 women belonging to the Ministry of Construction and the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, dedicated to the anniversaries of this institution and that of the FMC.

Misael Rodríguez Llanes, secretary general of the National Union of the sector, said that due to the important role of women in the sector, the movement of women creators and other initiatives will be rescued in all fronts due to the influence of female forces.

After a fruitful colloquium among those present, a group of eminent professionals received the 56th anniversary seal of the Federation of Cuban Women.

Teresa Amarelle Boué, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women, and Misael Rodríguez Llanes, Secretary General of the National Construction Union, presided over an important forum of outstanding women construction workers.

In the meeting dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the FMC; to August 10, the day of the worker of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources; and to the 99th anniversary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, 60 women belonging to both institutions participated.

During the Forum, several delegates presented their experiences and contributions during many years of work in the sector with a view to the development of the nation's economy and society.
