Havana, August 12.- The Union of Young Communists (UJC, for its acronym in Spanish) and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER, for its acronym in Spanish) are calling for a giant camping tonight to celebrate International Youth Day and the 99th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
According to information published in national media, areas of the Sporting City, the site chosen for the celebration, are expected to accommodate more than 10,000 people. They will enjoy musical groups, fairs, and attractions that will be available to share with the family during the evening of homage to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, starting at 4:00 p.m.
The UJC, the main coordinator in charge of organizing the camping, has the support of the Party and the government of the capital to guarantee the necessary resources to carry out this festive activity, included in the program in honor of Fidel's centennial, to be celebrated next year.
The public will be able to enjoy sports exhibitions, parachute jumps, horseback riding skills demonstrations, and dance music with performances by several groups.
More information related to this event will be shared in the coming hours. Public transportation support has been secured to facilitate the arrival of visitors from municipalities far from the Sporting City, as well as medical care, the offer of gastronomy’s outlets, and internal order.
