XLI Havana International Fair opens today

Havana, Nov 24.- The XLI Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025) opens today at 10 a.m. at the Expocuba venue, where from this first day, five thematic areas will promote projects and sectors prioritized for the country's economic and social development.

The largest commercial event in Cuba and the region will host businesspeople, private entrepreneurs, specialists, and official and chamber delegations from around 50 nations, aiming to establish alliances and business deals. Its take place occurs amidst a very complex local and international situation.

In the face of a tightened US blockade, financial subversions, the impact of a devastating hurricane, and other limitations, the Island will showcase its potential for exports and foreign investment.

One of the thematic areas is called Made in Cuba, with the exhibition of 40 national export products and services, coming from the territories and poles with that condition.

There is also the one dedicated to the Energy Transition, in which the development of renewable energies in the country, and the prospects and potential of energy transformation, will be shown to economic actors and foreign companies.

Another thematic area opening on this first day of FIHAV 2025 pertains to "Artificial Intelligence," where the main technological applications developed in various sectors, along with successful cases using AI, will be displayed interactively.

The "Forum on Integration and Development Mechanisms," another new feature, will be dedicated to schemes in which the largest of the Antilles participates. It will, therefore, showcase projects and sectors with potential within their member nations.

These include ALBA-TCP, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI, for its acronym in Spanish), and the BRICS economic bloc, about whose functioning there will be a panel.

A fifth thematic area is called "Unique Cuba," featuring a comprehensive promotion of the tourism sector with innovative projects in different business modalities, aimed at boosting the export of services.

The program for this inaugural day also includes the Cuba-Russia business forum, held in the Executive Hall of Expocuba.

The 41st Havana International Fair, which will be open to the public until Saturday the 29th, will take place, in which the provinces and the exporting productive centers will be represented. (Text and photo: ACN)
