Havana, Dec. 16 - The Institute of Meteorology (Insmet) issued an alert today via its social media channels regarding the persistence of a nearly stationary cold front along Cuba's north coast, which has brought showers, rain, and thunderstorms during the early morning hours and throughout the rest of the day.
According to satellite and weather radar images, areas of precipitation were observed in locations along the northern coast from Artemisa to Camagüey.
The Insmet specified that some rains could be heavy and intense, so it recommended that the population stay attentive to official forecasts and take precautionary measures.
The institution indicated that weather conditions will remain unstable while the system remains over the region, with the possibility of new storms in the afternoon. (Source: ACN)
