
Camagüey, Dec 20. - The products planned within the regulated family food basket for this December are being maintained almost in their entirety, according to clarifications issued by the Provincial Business Group of Commerce (GECI, for its acronym in Spanish) in the province.
According to this update, the only item affected is coffee, due to limitations with the raw material in the country.
As was previously reported, a first shipment of four pounds of rice per consumer is being delivered, and in the coming days, a similar amount is expected to be completed as soon as coverage increases.
In November, one pound of raw sugar was sold per capita, but for the end of 2025, it will be sold at a rate of two pounds per consumer.
In some municipalities, a partial amount of 10 out of the planned 20 ounces of peas was sold, based on existing inventory, but the completion will be carried out as soon as the planned quantities for this round are available.
Regarding cooking oil, the company in charge of its commercialization assured that the specialized equipment is in Santiago de Cuba to extract the much-needed food, and its availability will also allow for attending to prioritized social consumption.
Both the fruit puree (the eighth round was completed only in Camagüey, Najasa, and Jimaguayú) and the salt, included in this month's basket, are awaiting the arrival of new quantities to proceed with their placement in the units of the commerce system.
