
Caracas, Jan. 14. - The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) expressed in an official statement its firmest support for the people and Government of Cuba, as well as for its President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, in defending the island's sovereignty and independence.
The alliance emphasized that Cuba's position is grounded in the legitimate exercise of the right to self-determination and to establish relations of friendship and cooperation with all governments and peoples of the world.
Through the official statement, the regional bloc highlighted the inalienable right of every people to decide their own political, economic, and social path.
It also recognized the historical trajectory of Cuba's foreign policy, built on independence, national dignity, and a commitment to multilateralism.
It noted that the island has demonstrated a permanent commitment to international cooperation, solidarity among peoples, and respect for International Law, contributing to understanding, peace, and collective well-being, especially in favor of the Global South.
The regional bloc urged multilateral organizations and the international community to maintain their solidarity-based support for Cuba, in line with the UN General Assembly resolutions demanding the lifting of the United States blockade.
Furthermore, it called for contributing responsibly to peace, stability, and cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
