Camagüey, March 13.- With a show dedicated to Brazilian culture, the 32nd edition of the International Book Fair began this Wednesday in Camagüey, which will run until March 17.

The literary festival constitutes one of the most important cultural events that take place in this city and always brings together creators from different parts of the Cuban geography and other foreign places, so it is also a space for dialogue and confrontation of different ways of doing.

In the opening remarks, the essayist and film critic Juan Antonio García Borrero - to whom the Camagüey version of the Fair is dedicated along with the writer Sergio Morales Vera - referred to the future of literature in the Internet era and the need to understand the digital book phenomenon, its use and importance.

"A good way to build public policies that in the future contribute to making the digital book something that assists in personal growth would be to ask ourselves the most basic questions: What is the digital book?

The greater the awareness that we do not know that virtual world, the greater the opportunities it will offer us," said the coordinator of the El Callejón de los Milagros Project.

For his part, Jildo Borrel Cáceres, director of the Provincial Center for Books and Literature, classified the contest as a unique opportunity for writers and their audiences to meet on a unique bridge sealed by the love of literature, while inviting everyone to participate. in this festival of letters until next Sunday.

This year the Camagüey chapter of the 32nd International Book Fair has more than 200 titles available, of which more than twenty correspond to the Children's Pavilion, one of the preferred spaces for Camagüey families.

The usual spaces of the Terraza Campesina, La Carpa de la Reina, of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), and La Mayor Street, adjacent to Agramonte Park, will be maintained, where publications and presentations from the publishing label El Lugareño, from the Office will be of the Historian of the City of Camagüey.

Other areas are also added, such as the Nuevo Mundo Audiovisual Complex and the House of Poetry, spaces that will host the section dedicated to the digital book and special presentations, respectively.

The Fair has a collateral program that, with the protagonism of the artists belonging to the Sociocultural Project Golpe a Golpe of the AHS, will bring art and literature to different places in Camagüey's geography.

Likewise, the theoretical program, organized by the Doctor in Social Communication Sciences, María Antonia Borroto Trujillo, will consist of panels, discussions and conferences associated with topics such as Brazilian culture, the life and work of Francisco López Sacha and Isabel Monal, figures to which the event is dedicated in the country, as well as topics of local history and culture.

There will be five days of art and literature with the entertainment of local cultists, troubadours, soloists and other groups that give prestige to Camagüey and its vast literary tradition.
