Havana, June 23 - The president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, today convened the Fifth Regular Session of this body, in his 10th legislature.
The plenary session will take place in the capital's Convention Palace, starting on 16 July, to discuss the assessment of the implementation and impact of the Government Programme's measures to correct distortions and boost the economy.
They will also analyze the behaviour of the national economy at the end of the first half of 2025 and the update on the implementation of the State Budget for 2025 and the liquidation of the 2024 budget.
In addition, other processes will be followed, such as the accountability of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, and the report of the exercise of the highest control to the Ministry of Transport, as well as the analysis and discussion of several bills.
On July 14 and 15, previous meetings of the permanent working committees of the Cuban legislature will be held to discuss more than 80 issues on the national agenda related to the Cuban population. (Text and photo: PL)
