Damascus, Sep 2.- The ambassador of the State of Palestine in Syria, Samir Al-Rifae, today expressed gratitude to the Cuban government and people for their historical and firm support for the struggle of the Palestinian people for the recovery of their legitimate rights.
The diplomat's position was expressed during his reception with the island's ambassador in Damascus, Luis Mariano Fernández Rodríguez.
He highlighted the invariable positions of the largest of the Antilles in international forums and considered them identical to those of the State of Palestine when defending not only the Palestinian issue but all the just causes of the peoples of the world.
The best Palestinian doctors are graduates of Cuban universities, and today they do great humanitarian work in the occupied territories offering medical assistance and humanitarian services, clarified the head of the Palestinian diplomatic mission.
In turn, the Cuban ambassador reiterated the historic position of support for the Palestinians and their inalienable right to establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and the return of refugees.
The two diplomats condemned the genocide committed by Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip, and considered that the United States is complicit in it since it continues to supply lethal weapons to Tel Aviv and hinders any effort in the Security Council to end the brutal war against Gaza.
