USA commits extrajudicial execution by bombing alleged "Narco-Boat" in the Pacific

USA, Feb 11 - The United States Southern Command reported that hours ago it perpetrated another extrajudicial execution by bombing an alleged "narco-boat" in the Pacific Ocean, killing two crew members, in open violation of international law.

The statement expressed: "On February 9, under the orders of the Southern Command commander, General Francis L. Donovan, the joint task force Southern Spear carried out a lethal kinetic attack against a vessel operated by designated terrorist organizations," the military entity stated without showing evidence of links between the civilians killed on the high seas and organized crime.

Furthermore, it indicates that intelligence services "confirmed that the vessel was transiting through known drug trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was participating in narcotrafficking operations," adding that two alleged "narco-terrorists" died during the attack, while another survived but is being sought.

In the waters of the Caribbean and the Pacific, the United States has maintained since August 2023 the largest military mobilization in recent decades, with a constant presence of air and naval assets.

Initially, Washington justified this operation claiming it was fighting drug trafficking and, without providing evidence, blamed the Government of Venezuela for collaborating with that crime. This narrative was articulated in order to justify an aggression against the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez, such as the one that occurred last January 3rd.

As a result of bombings against alleged drug trafficker boats, both in the Pacific and the Caribbean, more than 120 deaths have been recorded.

On January 23, the previous attack took place, which occurred after a pause of nearly three weeks, after the United States attacked Venezuela and kidnapped NicolásMaduro, the Venezuelan president, along with his wife Cilia Flores. (Text and Photo: Granma)
