Camagüey, September 28.- “The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) have been my school, my joy for many years of my life, I have been able to fully carry out my work from the base, with the community and with the Revolution” This is how Georgina León Martínez, a 64-year-old member of Camagüey, who has worked in the Vista Hermosa Popular Council in this city, expressed it.
“I'm in love with CDR. I think the best gift I have given to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro was on his 83rd birthday, when I achieved 83 blood donations. I was awarded by the municipality of Camagüey as an example in the fulfillment of tasks,” said León Martínez.
She highlighted that it is inspiring to dedicate time and effort to volunteer work for the common good.
Also their work in planting sweet potatoes, collecting cassava and harvesting the harvest demonstrate their commitment to the well-being of the community and support for the Revolution.
Together with the zonal groups, the Association of Combatants, the Federation of Cuban Women, carried out multiple tasks.
She told Radio Cadena Agramonte that she was very concerned about the problems of each neighbor and the environment. She was very interested in the participation of young people and their incorporation into the organization. This task led her to exchange with the students and showed them the importance of belonging as a relief and continuity.
She added that Cuba has been the victim of constant attacks by the enemy that seeks to suffocate the economy, which is why he called for using social networks to reverse the fallacies that defame the social achievements achieved.
Excitedly, she recalled that she had the honor of participating as a guest in the CDR Congress in 2018 for her results in activities such as neighborhood watch, health promotion and education, and pointed out that as long as she breathes she will promote citizen participation and solidarity in the neighborhood.
