Camagüey, October 17.- Huber Enrique Figueredo Brocetas, 14 years old, was one of the eight children from the province of Camagüey to win the National Consumer Protection Contest, a contest sponsored by the Ministry of Domestic Trade of Cuba.
The student of the Carlos Rodríguez Mixed Center from the Batalla de las Guásimas community, in the municipality of Vertientes, won the grand prize with a ceramic work that replicated the weight of a service provision unit.
“Since I was little I have been passionate about making clay figures and when I grew up my uncle taught me several techniques that I developed today thanks to my teacher Iván Castillo Guerrero, from the House of Culture in my territory,” he explained.
Hubbergel Figurero Guevara, the teenager's father, said he was very proud and recognized the work of the art instructor with the new generations.
The contest aimed at all age groups aims to contribute to education and information on the topic of Consumer Protection, the rights of the population in their consumer relationships and knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals promulgated by the United Nations.
