Camagüey, July 2 – The People's Saving Bank (BPA, for its acronym in Spanish) in Camagüey has managed to keep 18 of its 20 ATMs operational, thanks to the dedicated restoration work carried out by the financial sector's technical team, reported Andro Fontes Mora, head of this specialty.

Fontes Mora explained that they have not received resources for scheduled maintenance recently, but their exhaustive work allows them to classify reusable components and extend their operational life.

He also emphasized that these ATMs not only dispense cash based on the funds received at branches, but also offer other services, such as bank transfer payment channels and balance inquiries. Of the 18 ATMs in operation, 15 are equipped to dispense cash.

Furthermore, the availability of high-denomination bills, such as thousand-peso bills, has been eliminated in order to favor, as long as cash is available, retirees and workers in salary payments by primarily providing small denominations.

The team is also prioritizing the operation of computers in the commercial and cashier services, essential for the BPA's 20 branches and 34 annexed areas. (Text and photos: Enrique Atiénzar Rivero/Radio Cadena Agramonte Contributor)
