Camagüey, Oct. 18.- About twenty professionals in the field of Primary Health Care (PHC) in this province make up the Camagüey delegation to the III National Congress of Family Medicine 2023, scheduled for October 30 to November 3 at the Convention Palace from Havana.
The delegation is made up of 16 specialists in Comprehensive General Medicine (MGI), the governing discipline of the APS, while the remaining four members are from Internal Medicine and Health Administration, and of the latter one has a first specialty in MGI.
The aforementioned meeting will be a space not only to highlight the scientific work in said medical branch, but also to highlight the 40 years of Family Medicine in the country, as well as to present and analyze its achievements and challenges as a prioritized objective of the Ministry of Health. Public.
The topics to be addressed are related to Comprehensive General Medicine and its improvement, the Maternal and Child Care Program, communicable diseases, the elderly, teaching and medical care.
In the case of the Camagüey delegates, they will attend with the mission of presenting 20 investigations with relevant results in different provincial events prior to the national event.
The commission of experts is led by Dr. Lex Cervera Estrada, president of the Chapter of the Cuban Society of Family Medicine in the Camagüey territory, and by Dr. Caridad Agüero Betancourt, group leader of the specialty.
In Camagüey, the selection of delegates to the III National Congress of Family Medicine 2023 was made based on the results of the I Provincial Symposium of Family Medicine and the Provincial Conference of the Cuban Society of Family Medicine (SOCUMEFA in Spanish).
