XXXIII Audiovisual Exhibition El Almacén de la Imagen concluded in Camagüey (+ Post)


Camagüey, Oct 29.- With the awards for the best works of the XXXIII edition of the Audiovisual Exhibition El Almacén de la Imagen, this important event that brings together young filmmakers from the country and other countries culminated the day before at the House of the Young Creatorof Camagüey.

The closing gala was attended by Tamira González Jiménez, provincial director of Culture; Seidel Toledo Pimentel, deputy director of the sector at that level; Yenisleydis Sáez Flores, provincial director of Cinema, and members of the jury, who were in charge of presenting the awards for specialties, genre and pitchings.

On this occasion, the work titled Animal Cargo, by the young Iván Bustinduy, was the winner in the Direction and Screenplay specialties, while in Photography and Editing the award went to the material Lightness.

In Art Direction the award went to the work Shaid; In Original Music, La Hora Azul was awarded, while in the Sound section the animated short film Telón was selected.

The best pieces by genre were also recognized, and in the case of animation, Telón, by the artist Henry de Armas, was awarded, and in Promotional the program La Caja, with an original idea by the director Marianne Portuondo.

Additionally, in Fiction, Lightness won; In Short, the award went to the material Dreams, by Ricardo de la Paz, and in Documentary, the exhibition titled The Work, by José Ángel Pérez, was distinguished.

As is traditional, among the most important moments of the event is the awarding of pitchings or audiovisual projects, since this results in the allocation of financial support to young filmmakers so that they can materialize their creations.

In this sense, the jury made up of Rudy Mora, Lourdes de los Santos, and Vladimir Emilio García decided to award the Fiction Pitching to Islas náufragas, by Ricardo De La Paz Cervantes, for its treatment of a current topic of high social complexity with a look at the values ??that make up social identity.

For its part, the Animation Pitching was awarded to the project The Miracle of Life, by Melissa Sanz, for addressing a topic that promotes education and training at an early age.

As the highlight of the awards gala of the XXXIII El Almacén de la Imagen Audiovisual Exhibition, the highest City Lights award was awarded to Levedad, by director José Fornet Lezcano, for the excellent combination of artistic and technical elements.

In this context, José Xavier Guerra Carmenates, president of the branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association in Camagüey, extended the invitation to participate in next year's delivery and thanked participants, collaborators and the general public for having lived next to the quarry of the Cuban audiovisual this film festival.
