Camagüey, November 6.- Achieving systematicity in the extension of plantations and strengthening agroindustry focused the celebration activities in Camagüey for Sugar Cane Day.
Organized by the Camagüey branch of the Association of Sugar Technicians (ATAC), the Cañera Cándido González Company in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Sur hosted the event.
There, the legacy of Fidel Castro was remembered and five young people from different entities in the sector were recognized for their contributions to increasing grass production.
At the meeting, the diploma For the Work of Life 2023 was awarded to hydraulic engineer Lázaro González Elías, for his contributions and remaining active after retirement.
In this context, it emerged that it is necessary to generalize good practices, apply technological variants adjusted to each place in order to increase the obtaining of good quality sugar and food.
Next year the meeting will be on the premises of the Siboney sugar mill in the municipality of Sibanicú, where the good work of the El Entronque Sugar Cane Cooperative Basic Production Unit stands out. (Text and photo: Pedro Paneque Ruiz/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
