Raúl Castro's example of patriotism stands out in Cuba


Havana, Nov 29.- The Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC) recognized this Wednesday Army General, Raúl Castro, for his example as a combatant, patriot and revolutionary, and as founder of that group 30 years ago.

In a political-cultural evening, held in the Universal Hall of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) on that date, he was awarded a diploma and the commemorative seal of the XXX Anniversary of the ACRC, for his role as creator and promoter of the organization. together with the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

Both recognitions were received by the Minister of the FAR, General of the Army Corps Álvaro López Miera, reported national television, which noted that the gala was also dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the landing of the expeditionaries from the yacht Granma and to FAR Day.

At the event, the president of the ACRC, Major General José Carrillo, ratified the group's commitment to expanding membership, “without forgetting the roots, nor those who have fertilized its growth with their blood.”

The ACRC's fundamental objective and reason for being is to unconditionally support the defense of the Revolution and the conquests of socialism in all areas, for which it organizes and unites the different generations of combatants who fought and fight for this goal. (Text and photo: PL)
