Havana, Jan 18.- Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, denounced this Thursday the actions of the United States and its allies of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to impose their domination, in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law.
When speaking at the V Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, which took place in Kampala, Uganda, in the context of the XIX Summit of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (NAM), the Cuban Foreign Minister pointed out the practices they resort to, instigating conflicts and promoting and financing strategies for regime change.
They impose and intensify illegal unilateral coercive measures and resort to the selective use and manipulation of human rights for political purposes, Rodríguez Parrilla added.
In his speech, published on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, he valued the importance of the coordination of actions in the NAM mechanism, especially those related to intergovernmental processes linked to the proposal of the secretary general of the Organization of the United Nations (UN) known as Our Common Agenda, just like the process associated with the Future Summit.
Rodríguez Parrilla once again denounced Israel's crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people, under the protection of the United States veto in the Security Council and with the support of its allies in NATO, which have unleashed a serious humanitarian situation that requires action from the international community
The head of Cuban diplomacy condemned the hypocrisy, silence and inaction regarding the problem, particularly on the part of countries that proclaim themselves defenders of human rights.
He also expressed support for the call for an International Peace Conference focused on guaranteeing the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, and the full and immediate entry of the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations Organization.
In that context, it supported the Republic of South Africa's claim against Israel in the International Court of Justice regarding violations of the Occupying Power's obligations as a State Party to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Foreign Minister reiterated the support of the Cuban delegation for the declaration that this ministerial meeting will issue, as well as the permanent support and contribution in relation to the important activity of this Group of Friends of the Charter of the United Nations.
