Havana, May 19th. - The Communist Party of China (PCCh) and Cuba (PCC) today strengthen political dialogue, exchange of experiences and cooperation at a time when both nations celebrate 65 years of diplomatic ties.
According to the island's Embassy in Beijing Beatriz Johnson, the first secretary of the PCC Provincial Committee in Santiago de Cuba spoke with counterparts of the Asian giant on partisan work in socialist construction.
As part of her agenda in this capital, the leader was previously received by Liu Jianchao, minister of the International Liaison Department of the CCP Central Committee.
Both renewed the desire to further expand cross-party ties and the exchange of experiences on the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Embassy published on its social network X account.
Within the framework of this ephemeral, visits by delegations to each other stand out, which has energized links marked by the high level of mutual political trust and multisectoral cooperation.
In fact, Cuba and China reaffirmed strategic collaboration on computerization and cybersecurity during the China-Celac Internet Development and Cooperation Forum (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States).
The Cuban Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich, attended the meeting and rejected the use of information and communication technologies for campaigns of discredit or political manipulation.
In parallel, the vice head of the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba, Reynaldo Velázquez, makes a visit to the Asian giant focused on expanding cooperation in this sector.
The representative exchanged with his Chinese counterpart Wang Guangyan and both renewed the will to strengthen cooperation in areas such as undergraduate and graduate training, joint research and the exchange of teachers and students, the Embassy published here.
Previously Velázquez shared experiences on the ethical challenges and security of digital education during the World Conference on Digital Education in China and also visited the Central-South University of Nationalities.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez stressed last week that the bilateral relationship is of a special strategic scope and reiterated its gratitude to the Asian giant for its support for the socio-economic development of the island.
In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina, the diplomatic chief highlighted the recent meeting in Moscow between the top leaders of Cuba and China, while reiterating the commitment to advance the implementation of common consensuses and priorities. (Text and photo: PL)
