Camagüey, February 27.- 25 years after its creation, the Center for Business and Territorial Management Studies (CEDET) of the University of Camagüey has a commitment to the future, said doctor of science Ariel Zamora Ferriol, director of said institution. .

He highlighted that, through its different training programs, today specified in the Doctorate in Economic Sciences and the Masters in Regional Development and Management, human resources from Ciego de Ávila to Guantánamo have benefited, thanks to a faculty of 22 teachers, almost all of whom are doctors and have the category of Full Professor.

The guarantee of replacement is today one of the priorities in the purpose of renewing and continuing scientific production, an aspiration that they also assume with the founders, of whom today there are five from a group that two and a half decades ago began to place in the academic field territorial development and the significance of municipal autonomies and endogenous capacities, when that was not yet a first-order point on the public agenda.

Zamora Ferriol recalled the work of Ramón González Fontes and other initiators, and among the most important milestones he mentioned the founding of the magazine Retos de la Gestión and the UNESCO Chair in Local Development Management, the only one in Cuba and the first in Latin America dedicated to to study this topic specifically.
