Job fairs: bridges to the future of work in Camagüey (+ Photos)


Camagüey, March 22.- Job fairs in the province of Camagüey are consolidated as a valuable initiative to promote access to work in communities, especially in those that are part of the transformation program or that face vulnerable conditions.

During these events, specialists from different areas communicate directly with interested parties to inform them about available opportunities and courses that can help them improve their skills.

Nuria Junco Bárzaga, head of the Workforce Department in the Municipal Directorate of Labor and Social Security in the territory, underlined the social and political importance of these meetings, highlighting their role in the labor integration of young people.

So far, three job fairs have been held in the municipality of Camagüey and it is planned to continue these initiatives on a monthly basis.

The next fair is scheduled to take place in the Planta Mecánica Microdistrict, located in the capital of Camagüey and these events not only provide benefits to the inhabitants of the town, but also have a positive impact on other areas of the region.

As a result, 359 people from Camagüey have found employment thanks to these initiatives, which contributes significantly to correcting imbalances and revitalizing the national economy.

Among the organizations that provide services to the communities are Formatur and Turempleo, both attached to the Territorial Delegation of Tourism in Camagüey.

They stand out for their dual role as employers and trainers, offering a variety of courses that include languages, gastronomy, entertainment and security, among others.

In addition, the Federation of Cuban Women contributes with courses designed for women, promoting their inclusion in the labor market and supporting their professional development.

Since December 2023, Camagüey has hosted job fairs that offer ideal opportunities for returning to work. These events are especially beneficial for retirees, who have the possibility of opting for moonlighting, as well as for self-employed workers looking for legalize your activity.
