Argentine president has a negative image of 52.7 percent

Buenos Aires, April 7.- The Argentine president, Javier Milei, has a negative image of 52.7 percent, revealed a study published today by the newspaper Página 12 and carried out by the Center for Public Opinion Studies (CEOP).

According to the investigation, the president has a support of 46.8 and 0.5 percent of those consulted did not express themselves in favor or against.

On the other hand, 39.1 say they cannot stand the low salaries and the adjustment promoted by the Executive for another day, 10.7 are willing to wait up to three months, 10.9 up to six, 11.3 up to a year and 28 as long as necessary.

In statements to Página 12, the director of CEOP, Roberto Bacman, pointed out that the frenetic pace of cuts carried out by the Government generates a significant increase in tension.

There is no room for half measures: either you are absolutely for it or against it, he stated.

In addition, he specified that among the main concerns of citizens are salaries or income that are not enough (39.8 percent), inflation (33.7), insecurity (31.8), poverty (23.9) and corruption (18.4).

In this context, 55 percent of those interviewed think that their personal situation will not improve and in terms of the national economy, 51 percent say that Argentina will worsen.

Contrary to what Milei expressed since the electoral campaign, 75 percent affirm that the adjustment is being paid for by the people and not “the political caste.” (Text and photo: PL)
