President denounces geopolitical plans against Bolivia

La Paz, April 19.- President Luis Arce denounced that a neighboring country intends to control national resources such as lithium and exclude Bolivia from strategic communications processes, balkanize us, federalize us or show us as a failed state.

During a speech for the 133rd anniversary of the reopening of the Gualberto Villarroel Army Military College, in La Paz, the dignitary urged the cadets to be trained in the principles of defense of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Bolivia has become a point of interest for world powers - he noted - as well as for a neighboring country that seeks to control our strategic resources through special operations, blocking our exports, breaching the Treaty of 1904 or the promotion of advice companies for the control of lithium.

Without being explicit, he alluded to foreign interests that seek to subordinate Bolivia to geopolitical plans such as the Capricorn Plan or Capricorn Axis.

This project consists of a bi-oceanic corridor that crosses Brazil, Paraguay, Chile and Argentina, with a transversal length of approximately 2,500 kilometers and that includes port facilities in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, whose initial idea included Bolivia.

Starting in ports in Brazil, this integration route crosses Paraguay, northwest Argentina and reaches ports in northern Chile through the Antofagasta region, which facilitates connection with the markets of Asia Pacific and the west coast of the United States. USA.

This project has support from the Inter-American Development Bank, which in December 2023 presented the Regional Master Plan for Integration and Development of the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor.

During his speech, the president reiterated that the efforts of the powers to control Bolivian lithium are increasingly evident, since there have been attempts at political destabilization, disinformation campaigns and economic pressure for Bolivia to give up its control over this resource.

With proven reserves of more than 21 million tons in the Uyuni, Coipasa and Pastos Grandes salt flats, Bolivia develops this industry with a sovereign business model and in 2023 signed agreements on this matter with Chinese and Russian companies.

These corporations committed to introducing modern direct lithium extraction technology with an investment of $1.4 billion, in addition to opening doors for the training of professionals in those countries.

Arce expressed that such alliances with Russia and China will open avenues for the exchange of experiences and the technological training of our young people in those countries.

Arce called on the Armed Forces to train leaders who defend the homeland in this new geopolitical scenario. (Text and photo: PL)
