Camagüey, April 26.- To continue with the implementation of government strategies aimed at correcting distortions, revitalizing the economy and eliminating negative trends that still persist in society, called the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, during his visit to the Camagüey municipality of Florida.

The president, accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the PCC, visited various centers of economic and social interest in the region.

During his tour he stressed the importance of unity and attention to the current concerns of the people.

Morales Ojeda, in the presence of senior provincial and local political and government officials, stressed the need to intensify political and ideological work and address problems with a critical and constructive perspective, in order to find effective solutions.

Federico Hernández Hernández, first secretary of the PCC in Camagüey, highlighted that the provincial work system encourages the active participation of the people of Camagüey in the debate on current issues. He stated that, although areas of improvement persist, measures are being taken for its transformation.

The head of state praised the work of the staff at the Ignacio Agramonte Agroindustrial Company, the potential of the Tomás Rojas Rodríguez Packing Base Business Unit, with notable results at the end of 2023 and in the first quarter of 2024, and the indicators of the Hospital Leopoldo Rey Zampayo Pediatric Center, a care reference center with zero infant mortality so far this year.

The center founded by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and Vilma Espín welcomes patients from the territories of Florida, Céspedes and Esmeralda with a capacity for 54 beds and specialized services such as hemodialysis with advanced technology (6 beds and 6 kidneys). and genetics for pregnant women.

The connection with the base was emphasized to improve economic indicators, information discipline, control and attention to key programs such as sugarcane, supply of urban and suburban agriculture, food sovereignty and nutritional education.
