Camagüey, May 3.- Important issues of economic and social interest were widely debated during the eleventh ordinary session of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, corresponding to the current mandate period.

At the meeting, the behavior of the Economy Plan and the execution of the Budget at the end of the first quarter were analyzed, where net sales, gross value added and income were met; This is not the case with commercial circulation and physical production.

Likewise, the budget adjustments of income and expenses of the accounts approved in the territory were signed with the aim of improving economic results and increasing the surplus in the current calendar.

Another topic debated in depth is related to the behavior of the Senior Citizens Program, which requires greater attention from all agencies and entities in the district in order to achieve better results.

The social and food services aimed at protecting the most vulnerable people, known as the Family Care System, were also valued, in which more work must be done to bring them to the level required.

Oslayda Caballero, president of the Popular Municipal Court of Camagüey, reported on the situation of those controlled by the execution judges, their work location and the need to incorporate them into the different activities in the popular councils.

The delegates to the highest local government body evaluated the action plan to comply with the Law on Food Sovereignty and Nutritional Education, which requires actions to correct distortions, produce more and reduce abusive prices.

The Board of Directors reported on the attention to the voters' proposals, a task in which progress is being made but which requires greater agility from managers in the search for appropriate solutions or responses.

The meeting examined the production, marketing and quality of bread, aspects in which improvement is seen but which is still far from what is required to satisfy the needs of the population.

The popular councils of Puerto Príncipe-Guernica and San Juan de Dios also reported on the fulfillment of their powers, in which the preparation of the popular control commissions needs to be improved.

In its eleventh ordinary session, the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in Camagüey elected Enelia González, president of the Agri-Food Commission, as notable cadres; and Tatiana Ramírez and Miguel García Fransuá, presidents of the Jayamá and Modelo Imán popular councils, respectively.
