Among the main attractions of this meeting is the participation contest, which seeks to revitalize the filin style and make visible the new talents of the genre.

The native Cuban filin has spread throughout the world, especially Latin, to leave that mark and in the case of the contest I want the young generations to enter and not be afraid to present their work even if they think it is simple, said the singer Osdalgia Lesmes, creator and director of the project.

All interested parties, professional or self-taught, over 18 years of age, may send their works in the categories of performance, accompanying guitarist or unpublished composition, until June 14.

This genre represents what we need today, which is love, and represents artists from different generations; We cannot continue to think only about culture from what it contributes economically, but from its high value, because music contains the soul of a country, declared Elizabeth Couto, artistic assistant manager of Cultural Centers of the company Artex SA (Text and photo: PL)
