Havana, Oct 2 - The 25th edition of the French Film Festival in Cuba kicks off today in this capital with the opening gala of the event and the screening of the film "Novembre" at the Chaplin cinema.
This film, a 2022 production in the genres of Suspense and Crime, narrates how on November 13, 2015, France fell into the most absolute silence after the shooting at the headquarters of the weekly Charlie Hebdo.
Directed by Cédric Jimenez, the film depicts a country once again suffering from terrorists with a wave of attacks in the capital, resulting in the loss of 130 lives.
The event in Cuba strengthens alliances with our culture by launching a diverse agenda, that among the most expected, includes a tribute to actor Alain Delon, an essential figure within that cinematography, who passed away in August.
The exhibition will be open until October 13 and will show all of Delon’s films at the 23 and 12 cinema, as a worthy tribute to his career. Another special moment will take place at the Chaplin theater with the space Tribute to Laurent Cantet and the film "The Class."
For more than 10 days, the mentioned cinemas, along with Yara and Acapulco, will be the protagonists of a French filmography, with feature films for young adults and animated films.
The French Film Festival in Cuba returns to its wanderings in Havana and other provinces, where the audience have been waiting for two decades and five years for the season to appreciate the most selected of the European nation in the field of the Seventh Art. (Text and photo: PL)
