Cuba reiterates support for UNESCO


Havana, Nov. 16. - The Cuban government today ratified its willingness to support the global efforts of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the founding of that entity, Cuba renews its commitment to this organization in the search for peace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured through a message on the social network X. It also ratifies that the Antillean nation will continue to defend its multilateral and intergovernmental character, as well as its founding values ??and principles.

Founded on November 16, 1945, UNESCO is a specialized agency of the United Nations that has the purpose of contributing to peace and security in the world through education, science, culture and communications.

The constitution signed that day came into force on November 4, 1946 and was ratified by 20 States.
