Bandec works to improve customer satisfaction and digital services in Camagüey

Camagüey, Dec 26. - The branches of the Credit and Service Bank (Bandec, by its acronym in Spanish) in the province of Camagüey have enabled a total of 477,699 magnetic cards, of which 34,438 correspond to retirees. This figure reflects a significant effort by the entity to facilitate access to banking services in the region.

In addition, more than 116,000 accounts have been registered in US dollars (USD), backed by freely convertible currency (MLC), belonging to natural persons, self-employed workers, agricultural and non-agricultural cooperatives, as well as individual farmers. 165 new economic actors have also been incorporated into the system.

In its report as the end of 2024 approaches, Bandec points out that of the 1,493 users identified with the possibility of accessing Remote Banking, 28 percent have not yet registered for this service. To date, 168,441 workers in Camagüey have a magnetic card associated with their salary, a figure that fluctuates with the rise and fall of new economic actors.

During 2024, Bandec has addressed various dissatisfactions related to the lack of bonuses in certain businesses, recognizing the need to continue working in this regard, given that the processes have not been fully automated. Likewise, customers have expressed their discontent with the refusal of some establishments to accept digital payments, which represents a major obstacle to the advancement of banking in the province.

Another service, Caja Extra, which allows individuals to carry out transactions on digital platforms and make payments in establishments such as grocery stores without having to go to bank branches, has been the subject of complaints. Users point out that the limited supply of products and the lack of cash to meet demand have limited its effectiveness.

Despite these difficulties, operations through Transfermóvil and the EnZona application have shown positive progress during 2024 and this group is implementing new actions to contribute to the control, analysis and destination of cash income received in its branches, prioritizing the payment of accumulated debts, especially with regard to workers' salaries.
