Martín Torres, also national commissioner, explained that the four Greco members will be received in the city of Wuhan, capital of the province of Hubei, by the two-time Olympic champion in Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000, the Antillean Filiberto Azcuy, who collaborates with the development of the fight in China.
"Azcuy has Chinese and Cuban wrestlers under his tutelage in the allied country who will be able to train with the four who will arrive in the coming days, a link where both parties benefit," he added.
On January 15, Kevin de Armas, silver medalist at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, will fly to the eastern country with the aim of reaching his best level in his three-year career as the 60 kg champion in Cuba.
"We already know a good part of the Chinese team's wrestlers, we met them in Bulgaria, where we held the last training base for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games," the 26-year-old from Camagüey told the Agency.
