USA, Feb 4th. - The asteroid 2024 YR4 has a 1.2% chance of colliding with the Earth on December 22, 2032, which is why it tops the impact risk table prepared by NASA.
It is 60 meters in diameter and currently located 43 million kilometers from our planet.
New and subsequent observations are likely to alter the forecast of possible impact, which is currently 1 in 83.
The Earth’s Last Asteroid Impact Alert System (ATLAS) first detected this asteroid on December 27.
