Camagüey dedicates days to April 4


Camaguey, Mar 8th. - In order to commemorate the 63 years of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), and the 64 of the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM), which will be held on the fourth next month, both organizations develop a wide program of activities, under the slogan Siempre Joven (Always Young).

According to the president of the UJC in the region, Heinier Lian Carvajo Baxter, the headquarters of the provincial event to celebrate the date was granted to the municipality of Najasa, while Camagüey, Céspedes and Guáimaro obtained the status of outstanding.

On this occasion we are focused on strengthening our structures and promoting recreation with sports and cultural activities in different scenarios and focused on supporting economic-social work and working with the History of Cuba, Carvajo Baxter said.

The official added that actions such as cleaning up plaques busts and monuments, generational meetings, the delivery of cards from the UJC and the PCC also stand out, and pointed out that on March 18, in the Plaza Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz will be granted the Seal Forgings of the Future, maximum recognition of the Youth Technical Brigades, this time to 16 members of that organization.

The program will be nourished with spaces such as the Taínos Games and the inauguration of the student scientific journal, Sofia, at the Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz University, while the José Martí Art Instructors Brigades will take their work to vulnerable communities, the Hermanos Saíz Association will contribute their literary talent within the framework of the celebrations of the International Book Fair, from 13 to 16 March.

In addition to the anniversaries of youth organizations, the initiatives are motivated by 66 of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the Assembly Process of OPJM, 130 of the restart of the struggles for the independence of Cuba, 147 of the Baraguá Protest and the commitment of the new generations that defend the revolutionary process in a context where the measures of the U.S. government against Cuban socialism, escalate.
