Ignacio Agramonte Cup, a bridge towards the academic future of Camagüey


Camagüey, Mar 11th. - After three intense evaluation days, 209 senior high school students from the province of Camagüey were enshrined as winners of the third Ignacio Agramonte Cup, thus achieving their direct access to various higher level careers.

The new members of the university community will specialize in areas such as Architecture, Civil and Industrial Engineering, Physical Culture, Information Sciences, Agronomy, Foreign Languages, Veterinary Medicine, Food Sciences, Economics, Geography, Law and History. In addition, they will also be incorporated into electrical and mechanical engineering programs, accounting, chemistry, computer science and degree in tourism.

At the ceremony, the rector of the University of Camagüey, a doctor of Science Julio Madera Quintana, welcomed the winners, highlighting that they will be formed as competent professionals and committed to the development of the province and the country.

During the event, the results of the Milagros Gutiérrez Cup, organized by the computer science department to identify programming talents were also presented. In this competition, seven participants obtained medals: one gold, two silver and four bronze.

The closing of the event was attended by the First Vice Chancellor, Alicia Rodríguez Gregorich, as well as other members of the University Management, representatives of the Provincial Directorate of Education and the IPVCE Máximo Gómez Báez.

The Ignacio Agramonte Cup has established itself every year as a unique opportunity for the twelfth grade students to demonstrate their skills and ensure their academic future at the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.
