Camagüey will host battle for women’s volleyball title

Camagüey, Mar 12th. - From 17 to 22 March 2025 the City of Los Tinajones will become the epicenter of Cuban volleyball as it is the venue for the National Championship in its women’s category.

This prestigious event, organized by the National Volleyball Commission, will bring together the six most outstanding teams in the country: Camagüey, Pinar del Río, Cienfuegos, Havana, Granma and Santiago de Cuba.

Competition Format: All against All

The championship will take place under the format of all against all in a single round, where each team will face their rivals looking for the greatest number of victories, the team that manages to accumulate more wins will win the national title.

In the event of a draw, the tie-break system established by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the National Volleyball Commission will apply.

In addition, the tournament will not only be a battle for the title, also for the permanence in the elite of Cuban volleyball. The team that finishes in sixth place will be excluded from the next edition of the event in 2026, which adds an extra competitive edge to each match.

The event will start on March 17 with an opening ceremony that will include a special protocol by Pinar del Río, followed by the first three matches of the day. Each day, in addition to the sporting events, there will be protocols dedicated to the participating provinces, to highlight the culture and traditions of each region.
