Camagüey assesses progress in improving trade, gastronomy, and services

Camagüey, March 22nd. - At its last meeting of the month, the Municipal Administration Council evaluated the progress of the improvement process in Commerce, Gastronomy, and Services, a sector that is expected to be more effective in providing quality and variety to the population.

It was learned that the Retail entity is working on the development, modernization, and improvement of human capital, the computerization of processes, the implementation of procedures, and the redesign of its warehouses.

However, the expected results in merchandise circulation are not being achieved due to delays in the arrival of household goods, which requires the implementation of initiatives by various groups.

For its part, the Restaurant and Recreation Center Company (EMURE) is achieving good results in its management overall, although some core business units are reporting financial losses, a situation that should be reversed in the current calendar.

A total of 21 Gastronomy centers provide services to the Family Care System (SAF) through links with various production bases, helping to secure resources to guarantee food for the beneficiaries.

Lázaro Echeverría Rodríguez, mayor of Camagüey, called on workers in the commerce and gastronomy sectors to work harder to achieve better commercial dividends and to further exploit messaging services for the benefit of the population.

Dixamy Rodríguez Gómez, a member of the Cuban Parliament and president of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, called for improved ties with new economic actors, the creation of state-owned micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and greater utilization of the district's potential.
