Steel Derivatives in Camagüey meets goals with efficiency and commitment


Camagüey, March 24th. - With an annual investment of approximately 200 million pesos, the Camagüey Steel Derivatives Company is implementing measures to sustain the production of essential inputs for the metallurgical industry, especially the manufacture of nails and galvanized wire.

Ruel Rosquete Rivas, the entity's technical director, explained that production conditions have improved thanks to the timely acquisition of raw materials in 2024 and actions to minimize the impact of electrical energy disruptions.

Among the strategies implemented are the reorganization of the workforce, coordination with clients and suppliers, and the implementation of manual labor as an alternative to meeting commitments.

Priority is given to deliveries of sarcophagus nails and galvanized wire for the Tabacuba Business Group's tobacco campaign.

In the first quarter of the year, the goal is to achieve production valued at 21 million pesos, with an emphasis on the agricultural and commercial sectors.

Jorge Luis Álvarez Rodríguez, a trade specialist with more than 40 years of experience, highlighted the key role of the collective in import substitution and economic development.

"Workers are key players in this process of social transformation," he stated, emphasizing the importance of training the new generations in innovation and market research.

For her part, Maily Mateo Martínez, a 27-year-old energy-saving specialist, recognized the team's integrated work at every stage of the process, from the receipt of raw materials to final delivery.

Part of the Iron and Steel Industry Business Group, the company has 170 employees across its Minas (wire derivatives) and Nuevitas (metallurgical) units. Its achievements are no coincidence, but the result of the experience, effort, and dedication of a committed team.
