Camaguey, Mar 25th. - On the proposal of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, the extraordinary plenary of the Provincial Committee in Camagüey approved the release of Federico Hernández Hernández as first secretary and the promotion to that post of Walter Simón Noris, who served in similar responsibility in Las Tunas.
Chaired by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization, the plenary acknowleged the laboriousness, sensitivity and unconditionality of Hernández Hernández, and his 25 years of surrender as a directive of the Party, in which with his leadership he defended unity around this vanguard organization and the Revolution. Other tasks will be assigned to you.
Walter Simón Noris, 55, has had a broad political career as leader of the Union of Young Communists, first secretary of the Party's Municipal Committee in Camagüey, a member of the Provincial Bureau in two areas of work, and in the last year as first secretary in Las Tunas.
In that province, it was acknowleged for the organization of a comprehensive system of work and progress in various activities. (Source: Forward)
