511th Anniversary Distinction to Outstanding Media and Journalists


 

Camagüey, March 27th. - A violin, a piano, a familiar melody, the love theme from Frank Fernández's The Great Rebellion, performed by the Confluencias Duo, to pay tribute to word professionals from the Nicolás Guillén Protocol Hall in Camagüey's Revolution Square.

The Municipal Assembly of People's Power in Camagüey acknowledged prominent journalists and media outlets there as part of Cuban Press Day, with the presentation of the 511th Anniversary of the Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe distinction.

Miguel Ángel Febles, Carmen Martín Cruz, Maria del Carmen Fuentes, Luis Florencio Rodríguez Peláez, and Rodolfo Medina Echavarría; the provincial radio station Radio Cadena Gramonte, the newspaper Adelante, Televisión Camagüey, the local correspondent of the Cuban News Agency, and the local Union of Cuban Journalists received the recognition from Dixamy Rodríguez Gómez, a member of Parliament and president of the Municipal Assembly.

At the meeting, Rodríguez Guerra highlighted the media's outreach and support of government processes, ensuring that working ties and the implementation of the Information and Communications Law are strengthened.

The 511th Anniversary Award of the founding of the Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe is presented to groups and workers who are key figures in the cultural, political, economic, and social life of the city of Camagüey.
