Havana, March 27th. - The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) began the 10th edition of the High-Level Dialogues in Havana.
According to the Foreign Ministry's website, the meeting will run until Thursday, with the aim of deepening the exchange on issues of mutual interest related to the promotion and defense of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), as well as the results and follow-up actions of the 34th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, which took place in October 2024.
The meeting will offer an exchange of views on various processes related to IHL that are taking place within the framework of the United Nations.
The Cuban delegation is led by Juan Antonio Quintanilla Román, Director General of Multilateral Affairs and International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the ICRC delegation is headed by Elena Ajmone Sessera, Regional Director for the Americas, and other Red Cross officials.
Also attending were Carlos Ricardo Pérez Díaz, secretary general of the Cuban Red Cross, and Joel González García, legal advisor to the Cuban Red Cross. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
