Camaguey, Apr 16th. - The El Taburete family estate, belonging to the Cooperative of Credits and Services (CCS) Camilo Cienfuegos of the municipality of Jimaguayú, stands out for the fulfillment of the plans for the delivery of milk and meat and the diversification of its productions.

Fernando Rodríguez Ávila, president of the aforementioned CCS, said that at the end of March they exceeded 127 percent of the 900 liters of milk planned by the farm, and aspire to end the year with more than 26 thousand.

He commented that these favorable returns influence the implementation of silvopastorial and scratch systems, as well as the guarantee of a cane and king grass food base for livestock.

Regarding the delivery of meat, he explained that in this calendar they predict to exceed 4.7 tons of this food, for which they have 206 cattle, of which 21 of them in milking.

The life of us, he said, is agriculture, a passion he inherited from his father Fernando Rodríguez González.

The peasant Rodriguez Gonzalez said that although the social object of the farm is the production of milk and meat, they also plant foods and vegetables, and incur the cultivation of coffee in the plain.

This weed-drawn terrain made him with his wife and two children, a three-hectare space where more than three thousand plantations of the Robust Vietnamese and Arabic varieties flourish, grafted onto a pattern of Robusta, the latter stronger to fight the pests.

Last year, he said, they collected the first 400 cans of coffee and for the next harvest they aspire to collect more than a thousand cans of that grain, which must be marketed as a finished production, in particular, in the popular council next to the farm.

We work every day, from early morning to late at night, but the result of the work is very enjoyed, because we are aware that the people need the contribution of the peasantry of Camagüey, he said. (Text and photos: Yadira Núñez Figueredo/ACN)
