Havana, Apr 17th. - Guaní, a new cereal production line of the joint venture Proxcor S.A., was born with the intention of replacing imports, said the main directors of the entity, a merger of Proxenta, Slovakia, and Coralsa, of Cuba.
Zuzana Skolárová, general manager of Proxcor S.A., explained at a press conference that they intend to meet the demand for cereals from the tourism sector in the country, since Cuba does not have a factory of that food and imports it mainly from Spain and Mexico; they are also involved in social projects in the town of Caibarién, where the company is located.
Alejandro Castellanos, director of marketing and exports, reported that Guaní is a natural product, without preservatives or artificial aggregates; his wrapping is friendly to the environment and is produced from raw material one hundred percent Cuban, such as honey of bees, cocoa, coconut or peanuts.
The general manager pointed out that as a company they hire foreign experts, but the recipe is conceived here, with the technology installed; it is a new formula, a product of high quality and good flavor, very rich," he said.
Last night, the presentation of the new product took place at the National Hotel in Cuba, and at the ceremony itself Cubanacán and Gran Caribe hotel groups initialled agreements for the supply in their facilities.
The participants in the press conference held the accompaniment of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce for all marketing and export processes of their products.
Castellanos commented on the communication actions to raise awareness of new cereals, aimed at all audiences, and referred to the channels of feedback opened on social networks, as well as studies in countries of the Caribbean and Latin American region, for safe export and to cover other markets.
Manufacture of Proxcor S products. A., which also includes sorbets and cookies, is held in Caibarién, province of Villa Clara; they are Cuban products that since 2019 are positioned in the market, mainly with wholesale sales to state entities and other forms of non-state management, and sponsor cultural and sports events in the country.
