Nuevitas, Camagüey, Apr 22nd. - The Base Business Unit (UEB) Caribbean Navigation, from this coastal city, received the status of National Vanguard Collective.
On the other hand, as a proposal from the Provincial Bureau of the Union of Transport and Port Workers, and, approved by the Cuban Worker’s Central (CTC) in Camagüey, it was also awarded the category of Center in May Day and XXII Congress of the Cuban workers' movement.
These organizations agreed to grant the flag that accredits this collective National Avant-garde for the unity, delivery, efficiency and professionalism achieved during 2024.
José Raúl Rivero Salazar, secretary of the Transport and Ports Union; and Julio Manresa Pérez Castro, director of the entity, expressed their congratulations to the maritime-harbour affiliates and ratified the need to overcome the deficiencies of the past calendar.
The agaajo was accompanied by members of the Party, the Government and directives of the sector, in addition to the artistic talent of Natasha Abreu Jerez and Anaya Guerra Osorio, adolescents of the Latin American secondary school and the pre-university Aralio Hernández García, respectively.
The National Transport and Ports Company was established on 24 December 1973, and the UEB of this municipality of Nuevitas was established in 1991, a collective that currently has the responsibility of 65 workers distributed in fleet (boats) and land (office).
