Venezuela's president, Nicolas Maduro, in an exclusive interview for the journalist of the teleSUR multiplatform, Paola Pérez during the closing of the campaign of the Great Patriotic Pole Simon Bolivar (GPPSB), said that the government with the people is rehearsing a new model of direct democracy.
"We are rehearsing a new model of direct democracy surpassing bourgeois and representative democracy, the old concept of liberal democracy that is not liberal, that is false and elite; because in the capitalist countries it is the democracy of the billionaires," he said.
Likewise, the president pointed out that in these countries - if you are not a billionaire you cannot be a candidate, it cannot be anything, it cannot be anyone. Those countries manipulated by the increasingly perverse economic power, he said.
The power in Venezuela is held by the people, the president stressed, recognizing that it has been an unprecedented campaign. Is it a necessary and infallible method for a new form of government: the government of the people. Break the schemes. Go directly to the concrete agendas that the people have in their communities," said the head of state.
Our school is the empowered people. "I am happy with all the team that accompanies me," the dignitary stressed.
The 25M election campaign has been marked by high turnout and climate of civility, despite threats from the extremist right to hinder the election.
During the elections, 569 public offices will be elected: 285 deputies to the National Assembly, 24 governors and 260 legislators to the state legislative councils. More than 6,000 candidates are measured in this contest.
For the first time the governor of the Guiana Esquiba will be elected, amid attempts by powers such as the US to strip Venezuela of that territory over which it has historical and legal rights.
President Nicolas Maduro considered these elections to be vital to strengthen the transition to peace, national stability and economic recovery.
Nicolas Maduro: We're going to rescue all migrants.
On migrants, the president stressed that we will rescue them all, as we rescue the Maykelis girl. Keep us in touch with your family. It's a great joy to be able to comfort that mother. How many boys and girls are kidnapped in the U.S.? How many boys and girls have taken them from their parents? Is that called democracy? Is that called respect for human rights?
Similarly, Nicolas Maduro wondered where some agencies are that must defend the justice and dignity of migrants. Where is the International Criminal Court (ICC), where the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker T.rk?, is when crimes such as the genocide in Gaza are committed, or children disappear in the US, the president insisted.
"It is a world full of injustice where we are going to be engaged in a humanist process where justice is done," Maduro said. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
